Romance is different to everyone. To some, it’s flowers, chocolates, and champagne, but to me, it’s one person doing something nice for someone else. And what is a nice thing to do for someone? Buy them gifts, of course!
Since you are probably not a mind reader, it can be really hard to travel inside someone’s head and figure out what gift would make them happy. On Valentine’s Day, you can try, but why try when you can KNOW the right thing to give your loved one? That’s right. I have ESPN. Just kidding. That was a Mean Girls reference. I don’t actually have ESPN (except on my cable subscription at home), nor do I have ESP. But I do know a good gift when I see one.
Below you will find 12 gift ideas for all sorts of ladies. So please, stop trying to come up with your own gift ideas and failing. Stealing ideas and succeeding is a much better game plan.
Good luck not ruining Valentine’s Day this year!
1. For the one who isn’t nice to you until they have their coffee: Nespresso Citiz Espresso Machine
Espresso (Photo: Amazon)
Even if she already has a coffee maker, an espresso machine will be an upgrade (unless she has one already, so you better check yo’self before you wreck you’self). Not only does this device make a great espresso, but the machine itself is gorgeous. It won our Best Overall when we tested espresso machines this year, so it’s safe to say we love it. If she’s cranky without coffee, she’ll love it too.
Uggs (Photo: Nordstrom)
These slippers have a 5-star rating on Nordstrom from over 2,000 reviews, which is simply out of control for a product. The people have spoken, and the people clearly love Ugg’s Dakota slippers. Speaking from experience, you can’t go wrong with UGG slippers as a gift. In the past six years, I have given a different pair of UGG slippers to my mom, grandmother, grandfather, fiancé, and brothers – and each time, they were a hit. Who doesn’t like slippers? A monster. It’s true.
Kindle (Photo: Amazon)
The book lover may already have a Kindle, but everyone enjoys upgrading their tech gadgets, so a new one can’t hurt. The Paperwhite is Amazon’s best-selling Kindle and is great for all types of readers.
Suitcase (Photo: Away)
Taking a romantic trip to the tropics this winter? What about a Eurotrip this summer? This luggage is a travel blogger favorite, and it would make a great addition to your travel plans. Don’t worry, though. She won’t enjoying traveling with it more than she enjoys traveling with you. Actually, I can’t make any promises, but you’ll have to wait and see.
Necklace (Photo: Nordstrom)
If you want to give the classic V-day gift of jewelry, but don’t want to spend a fortune, Kendra Scott jewelry is a safe bet. It’s simple, beautiful, and affordable, and people LOVE it. This necklace has over 2,400 reviews on Nordstrom and a 4.5 star rating. My favorite color is the iridescent Drusy/Gold, but they have so many colors to choose from. You can’t go wrong.
6. For the one who binge-watches Netflix with you: Roku Ultra (2017)

Upgrade your binge sessions with our top pick for the best streaming device. The Roku Ultra is our favorite and will soon be yours, too. It is the greatest third wheel you will ever invest in.
7. For the one who loves taking couple pictures: Fujifilm Instax Mini 9

Is her potential dream to cover your fridge in pictures of the two of you? If so, you are in luck, my friend. Make her dreams come true with the Instax. She can instantly print pictures of the two of you and hang them on the fridge. It’s like Facebook IRL. Or it’s a throwback to Polaroids. I guess that depends on your age. Either way, you win.
8. For the one you’re always asking to put your wallet and sunglasses in their bag: Madewell Leather Transport Tote
Bags (Photo: Madewell)
If you expect her to have a bag big enough to fit your stuff, get her a bag that is big enough to fit your stuff. I am obsessed with Madewell and bags, so it is no surprise that I am obsessed with a Madewell bag. This classic tote is big enough to hold BOTH of you belongings, and it is both stylish and simple at the same time. If someone bought me this bag in the English Saddle color, it would be the most romantic thing someone has ever done for me. No exaggeration. Okay, maybe a little exaggeration. Whatever.
9. For the one who gets mad when you smell up the bathroom: Capri Blue Candle

For when Poo-Pourri isn’t enough, there are boujie candles to literally fill the void. But in all seriousness, if she loves home décor and entertaining guests, you can never go wrong with a candle as a gift. Capri Blue’s Volcano scented candle is by far the best smelling (and most beautiful) candle ever. It’s my go-to gift for everything and everyone. Loves it. Yes, that was a Paris Hilton quote.
Buy the Capri Blue Volcano Candle from Anthropologie for $30
10. For the one not really expecting anything from you: Sugarfina Champagne Bears

Don’t want to spend much? No problem. Sugarfina candies are super trendy right now, and the champagne bears are cute and romantic. Perfect as a little extra ‘something’ this Valentine’s Day. They taste great, too. Which is a plus because they are food. It’s hard to remember this when you look at them because they are so adorable. But I guess she doesn’t have to eat them if she likes looking at them that much.
11. For the one you’re nervous about shopping for: Sephora Gift Card

So she likes nice things, but you have no idea what she considers “nice?” A Sephora Gift Card is a way for you to get her something nice, without having to pick out something nice. Most females wear makeup, wash their hair, and/or cleanse their skin, so it’s hard to do the wrong thing with a Sephora gift card.

12. For the one who doesn’t want much: Sam’s Basic V-Day Package

Here’s my personal take on Valentine’s Day: it’s just another day of the year. I don’t need a gift because it’s Valentine’s Day. However, recognition for being awesome is always nice just because. If you want to do something nice for me (other than my laundry), here is everything you need to make a very basic (but enjoyable) Valentine’s Day package that someone like me would actually want: chocolate (except when I’m on a diet, which I am), flowers (must match color aesthetic of my home, so neutral), white wine (an expensive bottle between $15 and $30—yes this is expensive to me, don’t judge), oh and a card. You can even add in some of my favorite foods (pizza, cheese, french fries) and call it a day.
What you need:
Chocolate – Ghirardelli Valentines Day Heart: Buy on Amazon for $23.52
