Remember that long weekend and then that short work week? That was fun, but sadly now a thing of the past.

Back to five-on, two-off. And back to making the most of every hour of your weekend. A good amount of variety coming at you.

There’s a chance to take in some history with The Diary of Anne Frank. As a theatre kid and a history buff, I think it’s a good way to introduce this topic to the kids. Just sayin’.

Need to really drift away?

Take a step back — to the ’80s — and grab your geek hat for a Dungeons and Dragons night out with some brewskies. Don’t knock this game until you’ve tried it.

Leave the mind and serve the body with a variety of the East Coast’s finest liquids.

From juice to kombucha, you can learn a lot when you leave the liquor alone.

Want a truly amazing night out? Casual yet epic, the Cosmic Drag Bingo is really like nothing else. Laugh, compete and probably sip a little, get your bingo on for a good cause.

Need a weekend winddown? Friday night at Art Zone Gallery take a moment’s pause, step back and appreciate the amazing artwork that comes out of three of our finest local artists.

Opening night is always the night to go to a gallery and learn from the artists and their inspiration.

You never know, it may spark something in you.

Geek Out

The Deck Box HFX and Good Robot present Dungeons and Flagons

OK, OK, don’t get mad at me. I mean geek in a good way. I attempted to learn how to play D&D but the boys teaching me couldn’t handle the fact that I was a girl. Not my fault. Anyway, the next round of D&F will be set back in 1980 — The world of Greyhawk. Get lost in the world of wondrous creatures and powerful spellcasters. A great way to disappear for an afternoon.

Sunday, April 8, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

That’s a whole lot of coffee, teas, juices, kombucha, sodas . . .
